This first psoas workshop lays down the anatomical ground. We track the iliopsoas from T12 to the
inner thigh, explore how it links spine, pelvis and legs, and look at its role in flexion, walking,
standing and spinal stability.
Through simple, precise sequences (supine, upright and constructive rest), we differentiate psoas from “core gripping,” unpack compensations in the low back and hips, and begin to feel what a supple, responsive psoas actually is in movement rather than as an idea.
The focus is on somatic intelligence over muscular control: sensing weight, bone relationships,
breath and nervous system tone so the psoas can let go of its constant fight-or-flight bracing and
return to its pendulum, fluid function.

This workshop is the foundation for everything that follows in my psoas work. It gives you a clear
map of the muscle, shows you how to locate and organise it in your own body, and begins the
process of releasing both upper and lower psoas through gentle, repeatable explorations.
From here we can move into the next level of the work: the psoas as deep messenger of midline, safety and integrity, rather than just another “hip flexor” to stretch or strengthen.
